Lilburn Dyer "Poly" McGlothlin, age 89, of Wytheville, VA passed away Tuesday, June 03, 2014. He was born April 4, 1925 in Richlands, VA, the son of the late Edward and Hallie Hooker McGlothlin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hagy McGlothlin; brothers, Charles Henry McGlothlin and Edward McGlothlin; sisters, Betty Childers, Louise Carr and Kate Beavers. "Poly" was a member of Petunia Christian Church and Richlands Masonic Lodge #318. He was an avid Emory and Henry fan and always held season tickets.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Ida "Buttons" McGlothlin of Bluefield, VA; brothers, Bill McGlothlin, Bob and Geri McGlothlin all of Richlands, VA;
grandchildren, Heather and Chris Boyd, Shawn and Stephanie McGlothlin all of Bluefield, VA;
great grandchildren, Taylor and Carter McGlothlin, Evan Boyd; special friend and companion, Bertha Hoback. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Amy Whatley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery, Richlands, VA. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the McGlothlin family.
