Wife of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. The daughter of a poet herself, Caitlin was born one year before Dylan Thomas. She spent her youth in Blashford, London, Ireland and Paris. She met Dylan for the first time in April 1936. They married on July 11, 1937 in Penzance, Cornwall. The following years were full of dramas caused by alcohol, economic difficulties and (mutual) infidelity. They had three children, Llewelyn (1939-2000; obituary on http://www.guardian.co.uk/obituaries/story/0,,403809,00.html ), Aeron and Colm. After Dylan's death in 1953, she met a Sicilian film maker, Giuseppe Fazio, whom she married in 1957. They had a child together. Caitlin spent her last years in Catania, where she died in 1994.

On 9 February 2022, in a letter to the daily The Guardian, a Mr Pender informed that "in the 1950ies", Caittlin had asked the Home Office for the permissio to exhume Dylan#s remains and move them to the garden of his boathouse. The permission was granted, but Caitlin did not make use of it.
