Peter Antonie, 68, of 1433 Hawthorne avenue, Two Rivers, died Thursday evening following a six weeks' illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Klein & Stangel, Inc., funeral home in Two Rivers, and at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary's (sic) Catholic church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Antonie, father of three sons in the service, was born in Germany in 1874. He came to this country in 1899. On Oct. 15, 1901, he married Caroline Karlin at Catherine, Kan., and for 15 years the family operated a farm near Hayes, Kan., and lived at Hayes for six years previous to coming to Two Rivers in 1924.
Mr. Antonie worked in Two Rivers plants and several months ago took employment at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding company where he worked until Aug. 19 when he was forced to retire because of ill health.
Survivors are the wife, six sons, Joseph of Two Rivers, Cyril and Jerome of Manitowoc, Lieut. Celestine Antonie in Italy, Sgt. Felix Antonie at Camp Ross, Wilmington, Calif., and Ph. Mate 2/c Lawrence Antonie in the south (sic) Pacific; four daughters, Sr. Marcie C.S.A. of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. Earl Cretton of Mishicot, Mrs. Roland Caldwell of Newark, Ohio and Miss Ann at home. Nine grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Antonie was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mark's Catholic church. The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday evening.
