Maxine Beverly Forbes (nee Kiesner), 92, of Manitowoc, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Maxine was born on Aug. 17, 1920, in Milwaukee, WI. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Irma Kiesner. She grew up in Chilton, WI and graduated from Chilton High School in 1936.

On June 7, 1941, she married Donald G. Forbes and resided in New Hostein, WI, until moving to Manitowoc in 1947. In her early years, she enjoyed singing in the Westin Chorus, bowling, and playing golf. She was also a very avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Maxine was employed at Imperial Eastman Corporation for 25 years, retiring in 1985, as the manager of the customer service department. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Donald, in 1989; a daughter-in-law, Janet Forbes, in 1981; and a grandson, Scott, in 1972.

Survivors include her son, Richard Forbes and his wife, Christine, of Sturgeon Bay; her daughter, Pamela Forbes of Surprise, AZ; 3 step-grandchildren, Dane (Cara) Hartzell, Susan Hartzell, and Kelly (Jason) Routhieaux; 8 step-great-grandchildren, Zsa Zsa, Brigetta, Gunnar, Koko, Lillemore, Tatum, Ingert, and Stephanie.

A private burial will take place in Chilton, Wisconsin. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Machut's Supper Club, 3911 Lincoln Ave. (Hwy 42), Two Rivers, WI, at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
