Ruth F. Ross, 94, of 319 E. Washington St., died Friday, December 20, 1991, at her home.

Born October 10, 1897, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard Elmer and Ada Miriam Culp Fahnestock.

She was a 1916 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

A lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, she had taught Sunday School in the primary department for a number of years.

Mrs. Ross was a member of Martha Custis Chapter 342 Order of Eastern Star for more than 60 years, a member of Chambersburg Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Franklin County Heritage Inc., and a charter member of the Order of Amaranth Court 139.

Her husband, Charles A. Ross, died June 24, 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Winifred J. Ross of 319 E. Washington St.; two brothers, Robert W. Fahnestock of 1843 Alexander Ave. and H. James Fahnestock of 331 High St.; and nieces and nephews.

A daughter, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Burial will be Tuesday in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
