2 DIE, THIRD IN HOSPITAL AFTER CRASH

In a poor condition in a local hospital following an auto crash Sunday that took the lives of two of his companions is Ralph Hough, 27, of Grand Ronde. He is suffering from a fractured skull, received when the car in which he was riding plunged off the road near Rose Lodge and struck a tree. Joyce Mae Brandon, 18, and Samuel Melvin Kauffman, 45, both of Grand Ronde, were instantly killed.

The fourth person in the auto, James Doney, also of Grand Ronde, was only slightly injured. Both he and Hough were brought to a hospital here after the crash.

Investigation of the accident was made by state police from Newport. The car was demolished.
