Janet Marguerite Thorson, 91,died May 31, 2014 at the Homeplace in Mondovi, born May 7, 1923 in rural Eau Claire County, a daughter of the late Theodore and Johanna (Peterson) Miland. She was married to Marvin Thorson Oct 24, 1942. He died in 1996. They farmed in Buffalo County and achieved the honor of Century Farm in 1976. Following their years of farming, they retired and moved to Mondovi.

She volunteered at the American Home and at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi for many years, making quilts, and helping with church functions and activities.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald (Cheryil), Burnsville, Minn, Dennis (Jane) Mondovi, and Gene (Nancy) of Stevens Point; two daughters, Barbara (Adrian) Pichler, Durand, and Joyce (Mike) Grimm, Waukesha; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, James, Carl, Norman, Perry and Earl Miland; and one stillborn sister.

Funeral services will bee held at 11 AM Friday,l June 6,at Cenrral Lutheran Church in Mondovi, with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi.
