Harm William Heidebrink
(August 15, 1921 ~ June 20, 2010)

Harm William Heidebrink was born August 15, 1921, in Rushmore, Minnesota, to Garret and Edith (Akerman) Heidebrink. He was baptized in Rushmore, Minnesota, and attended elementary school in Holland, Minnesota.

Harm married Erlene Thomas on September 28, 1945. They lived and farmed in Holland and for several years lived and farmed near Scandinavian Lake in Pope County, Minnesota. In 1966 they moved their home into Swift Falls, Minnesota. There he worked for Jennie-O-Foods, TCI, and was an insurance adjuster for Gopher State until he retired in 1991.

In January 1992, his wife, Erlene, lost her battle to cancer. He spent a few lonely years until Gertrude Sudlow came into his life once again. On June 10, 1995, he married Gertrude and moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota. From there they moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota, and then to Montevideo, Minnesota, in May of 2009.

He was a very active member of Shepherd of the Hills Church in Swift Falls and then also a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. He was a very loving husband, father, brother, and friend to everyone he came in contact with. There was always a deep feeling of love when it came to his family and friends and he always told them and showed it by the things he would do. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, dancing, gardening, raising dogs, doing his homemade inventions and helping anyone in need.

Harm William Heidebrink passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo at the age of 88. All of these were wonderful and fulfilled years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Gertrude of Montevideo; sons: Gary Heidebrink of Willow, Alaska, and Laird (Vicky) Heidebrink of Hot Springs, South Dakota; daughters and daughter-in-law: Jeannie Wright of Wilmington, North Carolina, Joan Heidebrink of Hot Springs, South Dakota, and Patty Schultz of Edgemont, South Dakota. On the Heidebrink side there are also 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
