By 1837 they arrived in Carter Camp with their first two children, Elizabeth Ann & George. Their next daughter Agnes, was born there in 1837, followed by Robert Spear in 1843, and James C., in 1848. He was buried on Yochum Hill, which is across the road from their homestead, before it became a cemetery, in an now unmarked grave. His grandson, James G., son of his son James C., shares a stone with his Mother, Amelia S. Bailey Wrean, daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Bailey, were buried beside him when they died. The dates on their stone shows that they are the earliest burial there. This stone is also shared with her father Thomas.
His brother Thomas' memorial page number is 188682630.
