Bradley Jay Light, 22, of Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, was born March 12, 1966, at Jefferson City, a son of Jerry Lee and Evelyn Marie Mengwasser Light, and died at 9:25 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 1988, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City, as a result of injuries sustained in a construction accident.

Brad attended the Visitation School in Vienna and completed the eighth grade on May 25, 1980, he then attended the Maries R-1 High School where he graduated in 1984. After graduation he worked at the Vienna Quick Shoppe and at the time of his death he was employed by Jefferson City Industries as a bridge construction worker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by one sister; Doris Ann Light, on March 21, 1969; paternal grandfather, William Light; and maternal grandfather, Arthur Mengwasser.

His survivors include; His parents, Jerry and Evelyn Light, of Vienna; one Brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Linda Kay Light, Freeburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandy and Paul Falter, Freeburg and Ms. Linda Sue Light, Vienna; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Light, Vienna; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Haslag, Loose Creek; two nephews, Corey Falter and Clayton Light; and one niece, Ms. Amanda Light.

A rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Friday August 19, 1988, at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel, Vienna, with Msgr, Ralph G. Kutz, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, leading.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 1988, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Thomas E. Vaughan, officiating Lector for the Mass was Sister Rita Ann, and Acolytes were Marty Buscher and Bill Stegeman. During the Offeratory Procession, the Gifts were borne to the alter by Ron and Laverne Weckenborg and Al and Deloris Nichols. Appropriate musical selections were provided by Miss Julie Steuber organist and the Visitation Adult Choir.

Interment was in the Breeding Cemetery, Freeburg. Active pallbearers were Mike Toebben, Richard Toebben, Barry Welschmeyer, Anthony Welschmeyer, Danny Wansing and Steve Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Toebben, Todd Eichholz, Mike Rowden, Bruce Rowden and Ed Bauer.
