Rev. Brackett was a native of North Carolina, having made the North Augusta area his home for the past 37 years. He was a member of Stevens Creek Church. Originally ordained a minister in the Foursquare Gospel Church, he later served as a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). During his 55 years of service, Rev. Brackett served several area churches including the First Christian Church of Augusta. Additionally, he taught pastoral theology at Mt. Vernon Bible College. Rev. Bracket was an avid collector of model trains and coins and was known for his meek, kind yet witty personality. A little known fact is that Rev. Brackett read the Bible in its entirety 88 times. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian L. Brackett.
