AUBREY YOUTH DIES IN DALLAS
Gary Lee Owens, 13, son of Mrs. Juanita Owens and the late J.W. Owens, died at 12 noon Friday, February 13, at Parkland Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Gary had been born with a heart condition.
He was born October 5, 1956, in Denton and was in the seventh grade at Aubrey School.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 1970, at the Aubrey First Baptist Church, Rev. Russell Bland, pastor of Rockhill Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Bob Sanders, pastor of Aubrey First Baptist Church, Officiated. Burial was in Belew cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Lantrip, Lester Yarbrough, Steve Baltrope, Billy Morrow, Doyce Looper and Donnie Hunt.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs Juanita Owens of Aubrey; Three brothers, Harold Gene, Ricky Lynn and Gerald Wayne, all of Aubrey; one sister, Mrs. Marilyn Carlile of Denton; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Jones, Aubrey and Mrs. Edna Owens, Aubrey.
