CONWAY - Daniel David Madox Sr., 83, of Conway, Arkansas died Thursday, June 24, 1999. He was retired from Virco Manufacturing, an Army veteran of WWII, and a member of College Avenue Church of the Nazarene. Survivors are a son, Daniel David Maddox Jr. of Quitman; a daughter, Lela Mae Talley of Conway; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Beavers; his second wife, Ruby Alma Ward; and a brother, Carlton Maddox. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Services by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 327-7727.

This is my Granddad/Granddaddy. We grandkids (Scott Maddox, Karen Maddox Foster, Susan Maddox Shaw, Elizabeth "Libby" Talley, Debbie Talley and Stan Talley) called him both all the time. His children are David Daniel Maddox, Jr. and Lela Mae Maddox Talley. His first wife was Mary Ellen and then Ruby.

He was a cook in WWII. His favorite thing to make were pies.
