Pfc. Herbert A. Miles, son and grandson of prominent ministers in Shreveport, La., was one of the first casualties from the city in the Korean War, and as far as is known, was the first soldier from that conflict whose body was returned for burial in the city. Recipient of the Purple Heart medal. Member of the 9th Infantry Regiment.
