Retired Georgia Power Co. AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Robert Graves Abbott Sr., 84, of Martinez , entered into rest on Sunday, September 26, 2004, at the University Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Rev. Larry Harmon and Jack Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Abbott was a native of Windsor, South Carolina. He was a US Army veteran and was proud to have served in Battery A , of the 214th Calvary during WW II, and later with the National Guard. He was a Training and Method Specialist, with the Georgia Power Company, and had retired after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors and the West Acres Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Rollins Abbott, one son, Robert G. Abbott Jr., of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Nelda Marie Wasson and Lois Kight both of Martinez, One grandson, Charles Robert Schu ster, two granddaughters, Dennette Abbott and Tiffany Trahan, two great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Pallbearers will Robert Barnes, David Rhoden, Robert Abbott Jr., Charles Robert Schuster, Brad Rollins, Jack Brock Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hall, Ira Reeves, Jack Brock Sr., Mike Stone, Bill Goodwin, Jerry Seber, Moye Daniels, and Jack Stone.
