Mrs. Mitchell, 15037 N. 19th Ave., was killed in an auto accident Monday 60 miles west of Needles, Calif. She had taught school in her native Kansas before moving here and lived on Seventh Street and later on 21st Avenue before homesteading her home on 19th Avenue. She was a former member of the Capitol Methodist Church and had received a 50 year pin in the Royal Neighbors of America. She had attended Emporia Normal School in Kansas.
Survivors include two sons, William of Phoenix, Walter of Rosemead, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Katich of Phoenix, Mrs. Velma Day of Morro Bay, Calif., and Mrs. Dorothy Cornaggia of Cowchilla, Calif.; four brothers in Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
