Brother Robert Wise AKA Finian Albert was born in Pittsburgh Pa. His father died while his mother Katherine was 2 months pregnant with him. Katherine died when he was 2 years old. He was raised by his Aunt Grace Vaughan in his grandparents' home, Jennie Vaughn-Clark and Thomas Clark. He and his brother David were raised in the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh's North Side.
In 1940 at age 18, Robert joined the De La Salle Brothers, officially named the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, which in Latin is: Fratres Scholarum Christianarum (FSC). As a member of the FSC, he taught at the St. Francis Industrial Home for youth in Bensalem Pa. He graduated from La Salle College with a B.A. in 1944.
He continued teaching and taught at the West Philadelphia Catholic, and South Hills Catholic Boys High Schools. At SHCH he taught freshman scriptures and was generally very popular.
Brother Wise traveled to the Holy land and visited Jerusalem, Qumran, the Dead Sea and other sites.

Survived by his beloved nieces, nephews and his religious community, The Brothers of the Christian Schools. Religious, relatives and friends may call at LaSalle Hall, 6001 Ammendale Road, Beltsville MD, on Saturday Sept. 16th from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon. Interment immediately following at De La Salle Cemetery.
