Alex was a World War II Air Force Veteran. He moved to Roswell fifty five years ago from Yuma, Arizona. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and he worked as a meat cutter before his retirement.
Survivors include son. Alex D. Chavez and his wife, Debbie, of Roswell; daughters, Mary "Linda" Fajardo and her husband, Leo. Dolores "Dody" Loza and her husband Mike; brothers Eddy Chavez of Tampa Florida, Jesus Chavez, Nolbert Chavez, John Chavez and Henry Chavez all of Yuma, Arizona. He also had seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Chavez; both parents, Manuel and Rosa Chavez; son, Orlando J. Chavez; brother Jaquine Chavez; and sisters, Rosie Pintar and Dolores Aiella.
