Dorothy Kellam Barrowman passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the age of 94. She was a resident of Liberty Gardens in Conowingo, Maryland, and a resident of Talleyville, Delaware for more than 90 years. Dorothy was an original descendant of one of Wilmington's first and historic families. She was the wife of the late Willard T. Barrowman, her loving husband of over 50 years. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Harold and Francis Kellam. After graduating from Goldey Beacom College, Dorothy went on to work at The Hercules Powder Company in the Safety and Engineering Depts. as a secretary. She later left to devote herself to family and community. She enjoyed gardening, summers at Riverdale, Delaware, and trips to Maine.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children, Nancy J. (Barrowman) Wolf and her husband, Stephen of Wilmington, Delaware, Susan L. Barrowman and her Significant Other, Col. (Ret.) Anthony D. Radice of Lawrenceville, New Jersey. She also leaves several nephews and nieces.
There will be no visitation and graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Dorothy's name to Green Hill Presbyterian Church, 3112 Kennett Pike, P O Box 3892, Wilmington, DE 19807-0892.
