She passed away, Sunday May 1st 2011 at Signature Health Care in Columbia, TN.
She was educated in Columbia, TN where she was salutatorian of her graduating class of 1956 from Carver-Smith High School and attended Tennessee State University.
She was married to the late Charles E. Polk, Sr. and to this union four children were born.
She was a faithful and devoted member of the East 8th Street Church of God for many years until her health failed. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and care giver to all.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lem and Joanna Pillow, brothers Rufus and Lem Pillow and one sister Carrie Jennings.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted children, Charles (Sue Ellen) Polk, Jr. of Columbia, TN, Christopher (Cassandra) Polk of Snellville, Georgia, Dianna and Darlene Polk both of Columbia, TN, one stepdaughter Debbie Webster, Columbia, TN, one brother Willie (Barbara) Pillow of Cleveland, OH, sisters Fannie Pillow and Sara (Charles) 'Pate both of Columbia, TN, brother-in-law James Polk of Columbia TN, sister-in-law Atrail Pillow of Columbia, TN, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Burial at the Pine Crest Memorial Garden.
