Robert H. Ness, 79, of York, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at his home. He was the husband of Anne (Atkins) Ness.
The service will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. The Cremation Direct Service of the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ness was born Feb. 1, 1921, in York. He was the son of the late James G. and Mabel G. (Minnich) Ness.
He was a chemical engineer in the textile industry. He was a graduate of Penn State University and a 19M39 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Ness also is survived by two sons, Christopher A. Ness and Thomas G. Ness, both of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
