SUNSET - Aleen Mae Simons 82, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday January 18, 2006 in her home after a 3 year battle with cancer.
Aleen was born April 23, 1923 in Spring City, UT to John and Anna Downard Larsen.
She married Wesley Earl Simons on November 11, 1943, in Raton, NM they had three children, Harry, Wesley and Earleen.
They lived in Raton, NM, Winemucca, NV and Riverton Wyoming until moving to Sunset. Aleen worked for GSA then the IRS in Accounting. retiring in 1988.
Aleen was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She loved family gatherings, and working in her yard.
Aleen was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers.
Surviving are her children Harry (Eloise) Simons, Helena, MT; Wesley Simons, Killeen, TX, Earleen Tomford, (Phillip Owens), Sunset, UT; sisters Thora Lee, SLC, UT; and Anna Madge Jenson, Sunset, UT; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 5560 South 2300 West, Roy. At 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2006. Friends and family may call Sunday January 22, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road and Monday one half hour prior at the church.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wagnon, Dr. Gray, Hearts for Hospice and the nurses who assisted mom through her illness.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
