LOIS L. BEST of Prescott, passed away June 14, 2014 at West Branch Regional Hospital at 90 years of age.
She was born March 27, 1924 to Neil and Doris (nee Symons) Currie. On September 20, 1947 she married Willis Best. Lois worked for many years as the secretary at Prescott Elementary School, a job she loved until she retired in 1993 after 27 years of service.
She was an avid reader of both newspapers and books and enjoyed working on the past Prescott High School reunions. Lois was the family's person "in the know" when it came to any family updates and history.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla Best of Prescott. Four sisters; Donna Misner of Arizona, Jean (Frank) Sowa of Swartz Creek, Janet (Don) Templin of Bay City and Connie (Bill) Cliff of Prescott. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with someone special in her life these past months, her caregiver, Brenda Borkowski. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis, her son, Clay who both died in 1975. Four siblings; Leota Black, Sherley "Bud" Currie, Marion Houston and Jim Currie.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Prescott Chapel of the Buresh Funeral Home, 101 Harrison Street. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. Interment will take place at the Richland Township Cemetery, Rev. Brenda Klacking officiating.
