Frances (Bishop) Henderson, aged 63, died Saturday, September 22, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Ruth Hattie Cox) Bishop of Easley, South Carolina, and the late Jonas Bishop. She was married, 25 Dec 1959 in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, to Robert H. Henderson who died with her. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she helped with the children. She was a homemaker and substitute teacher for Greenville County schools. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother.

Mrs. Henderson was survived by her mother; two daughters, Karen Lynn (Henderson) Swofford (and husband David Lee Swofford) of Cowpens, South Carolina, and Gayle Elaine (Henderson) Hannon (and husband Byron Scott Hannon) of Greer; a son, the Reverend Robert Howard "Bobby" Henderson Jr. (and wife Myra Denise (Burns) Henderson) of Duncan; a brother, Bruce Jonas Bishop of Macon, Georgia; five grandchildren, Sarah and Krista Swofford of Cowpens, Jena and Kaycee Hannon of Greer, and Brady Henderson of Duncan.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy (Bishop) Jackson and a grandson, Jordan David Swofford.

Funeral Services were Tuesday, September 25, at Fairview Baptist Church and were conducted by Dr. Paul Welch, the Reverend Bob Atwell, and Sister Mary Hugh Mauldin. The Early Bird Sunday School Class, the Board of Directors of Greer State Bank, the Christian Business Men's Club, and the Margaret Bishop Sunday School Class were honorary escort. Pallbearers were Mike Mullins, Jimmy Hunt, James Hannah Jr., Mansel Burgess, Doyle Kay, and Ed Walker. Burial was in Wood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Trusting His Vision Fund, Fairview Baptist Church, 1400 Locust Hill Road, Greer, SC 29651.
