Henry Kliment, 69, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, died Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Kliment was born Aug. 21, 1897, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Joseph and Frances Krejcarek Kliment. He attended township schools and Manitowoc Training School, forerunner of Manitowoc County Teachers College.
He married Julia Zeman at Manitowoc Jan. 13, 1920, and the couple operated a tavern in the Town of Kossuth from 1928 until 1958. He was employed by Mirro Aluminum Co., retiring in 1962. A World War I veteran, he was a private in the Student Army Training Corps (ROTC) at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a member of Drews-Bleser Post No. 88, American Legion, ant ZCBJ Lodge No. 20 of Melnik.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Joseph, of Milwaukee, Lawrence, of St. Louis, Mo., and Donald of Prospect Heights, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. John (Mabel) Konop, of Manitowoc, four brothers, Joseph, of Rt. 1, Two Rivers, John and Fred of Manitowoc and Charles, of Rt. 1, Maribel, a sister, Mrs. Fred Swetlik, of Manitowoc, nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
