Mrs. Wencle Krainik, 79, died early Wednesday morning at the home in Francis Creek. She had been in failing health two years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. Sherwood Roach will officiate and burial will be in the Kossuth National Cemetery.
The former Anna Cherney was born in Czechoslovakia May 4, 1874, and came to the United States at 10 with her parents, who settled in the town of Franklin. On Jan. 1, 1890, she was married and the couple operated a farm near Polivka Corners until 1928. Following their retirement they moved to Francis Creek. The couple observed its 60th wedding anniversary in July of 1940. She was a member of the ZCBJ lodge of Polivka Corners
Survivors include the husband; six daughters, Mrs. Ludy Larson of Oconto, Mrs. Alvina Pagel of Francis Creek, Mrs. Herman Duwe of Milwaukee, Mrs. Charles Seibert of Culver City, Calif., Mrs. William Hardgraves of Land of Lakes, Wis., and Mrs. Ralph Petersen of Manitowoc; six sons, Otto and Emil of Polivka Corners, Joseph and Ernest of Francis Creek, Edward of Mishicot and Erwin of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Anton Cherney of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Emily Dohnal of Peshtigo; 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
