He was a long time resident of St. Christopher's Nursing Home in Norwich, CT. Mr. Sneed was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II, the Battle of the Bulge and Europe. He received the Eamet Campaign Medal and one Bronze Star, and also the Good Conduct Medal.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2000 in Sharon Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Billy Miller.
Survivors include his brother, Marion P. Sneed of Lisbon, CT;sister, Helen S. Johnson of key Largo, FL; sister-in-law, Nellie A Sneed of Moosup, CT; two aunts, Alma G. Fincher Dulin of Mint Hill, NC and Martha Childress of Salisbury, NC; and also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter R. Sneed and Annie E. Fincher Sneed Page, and a brother Clayton R. Sneed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
