William E. "Bill" Krumbiegel died at St. Luke's South Hospital. Throughout Bill's almost two year long struggle with cancer, he always maintained a strong and positive attitude. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Stanley E. Krumbiegel. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Eleanor "Snookie" Krumbiegel, their son, his mother Lois, a sister, 2 nieces, and 3 cousins. Bill was blessed with a strong faith and many wonderful and supportive lifelong friends. Bill was a graduate of SME H.S., and met his wife Snookie while both were attending UMKC. Throughout Bill's 23 year long career with NCR, he quickly rose through the ranks where he started as a programmer-but quickly realized his potential as a salesman. Bill was District Manager for the Midwest region in KC, and later promoted to the New York offices, where he was based for several years as Account Manager for their largest retail account-J.C. Penney. After two years in Dallas managing the account, he was promoted to Director of Research and Development at NCR's corporate world headquarters in Dayton, OH. Bill's dream of starting his own software development company was realized when he formed a partnership and started Millennium Retail Solutions in 1999. The enterprise brought the family back to Overland Park. Bill's commitment to his community was evident in a variety of ways. This included serving as a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Ascension Council, St. Phillip Duquesne, three years of which he served as Financial Secretary. As an active member of the Church of the Ascension, he served as Head Usher, Eucharistic Minister, Liturgy Committee member, and Altar Server Coordinator. He served as a Board Member and President of the Nottingham "By The Green Homes Association." Coaching his son's baseball teams, both in Ohio and Kansas, resulted in four championship teams. With interests ranging from sports to cars, Bill was a true Renaissance man. Bill was an avid Chiefs and NASCAR fan and loved his '79 Corvette, which he drove everyday. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
