"Note on the memorial says she's the daughter of Joel and Sarah Atwater, which is what the Hale transcript says. But since she is buried on the same lot with Joel and Abiah Bradley, I think they must be her parents (and the Hale transcriber read Abiah as Sarah -- the stone is too degraded to read it now). The other Joel and Sarah Atwater in the cemetery are not possible to be her parents (date-wise).
I've been looking for all the stones we have made of this interesting "Verd Antique" marble that was quarried in Milford CT between 1814 and 1830. This is one of them (I've found 25 so far). It didn't hold up well outdoors at all and it's been interesting to look for them. Mary has a nice one -- they all have what was at the time called "clouds" in the stone and hers are very prominent. That's about all you can read now!"
