ELLEN L. BARTA
Ellen L. Barta, age 89, formerly of 4428 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc, passed away Thursday morning, February 16, 2012, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Ellen was born on June 28, 1922, in Reedsville, daughter of the late Otto and Alma (Karnopp) Dahlke. On May 27, 1944, she married Raymond L. Barta at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsville.
The couple made their home in Manitowoc in 1944 and Raymond
preceded her in death on November 23, 1993. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and in the past was involved with producing Bethany's monthly newsletter.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Paul (Yvonne) Barta, Manitowoc; John Barta, Manitowoc; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Margaret (John) Bentley, Manitowoc; Kaye (Ronald) Schwoerer, Valders; seven grandchildren: Kristine Bentley; Kelly (Brian) Toltzmann; Lisa (Todd) Wellner; Trisha (Mat) Crass; Michael Barta; Keith (Staci) Schwoerer; Heather (Nathan) Coon; ten great-grandchildren: Blake, Brennen and Hayden Toltzmann; Tori Graff; Breanna, Levi and Lexus Crass; Peyton and Bristol Schwoerer; Audrey Coon; two sisters: Lorenda Peterik, Manitowoc; June Waack, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters; nine brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujawski and the Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with entombment at the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the
