John Henry MacDonald was born John Henry Goodrich Milford,Worcester County,Massachusetts on September 2 1920 to Myrtle Cora "Mercie" Goodridge Goodrich and Arthur Clarence Squires. There is a question as to my father being son of Arthur. However paper work from foster care states one Arthur Squires came upon place and took Myrtle Goodrich. They could not get my father as they were in Milford Almshouse and babies were kept separate from mothers. A cousin from New Jersey saw my fathers picture and said Arthur Squires definitely was also his father. One cousin deny's fatherhood for my father, his mother was also conceived out of wedlock. Lillian was born 7 month's after they wed.

My father joined the Army under John Henry Goodrich and was a non commissioned officer during WWII, he served in horse infantry and converted over to tanks. In 1944 he changed his name to John Henry Goodrich. However lawyers have told me it is a bogus birth record as father listed was dead 2 years before he was born. Whom ever was my fathers father, really dose not matter to me. He went to college worked his way up in Mobil Oil Company and did this all on his own. He taught me to be self sufficient and honest. Most of the rest of this family are unable to say that. My father was absolutely born out of wedlock. There is no question as to mother being Myrtle Goodrich all over foster care records. However there is question as to father. As also was Arthur Clarence Squires sister "Twin" Winnie Squires Bach-elder visited my father according to records. Their is no record she ever visited the other four children. I am only adding this due to my cousin Emmett's denial of Arthur and my sister also feels this is true. Hope this clears up everything for everyone, it is very complicated to many but simple to me. Why would twin sister to Arthur call herself my fathers Aunt? Bidding peace to all.
