Dr. James Monroe Sapp married three times, but the location of his wives' graves is unknown. From these three marriages, he had 13 children:
1. Sarah Milstead - married abt 1865. One child: William Joseph Sapp born (1866) in Shelby County, Texas.
2. Mary Melissa Brazill -- married 28 Sep 1869 in Polk County, Texas. Six children:
Loverd DeKalb Sapp (1870) & James Edgar Sapp (1872) born in Shelby County, Texas.
Daniel Monroe Sapp (1874), Thomas Hillard Sapp (1877), and Emory Eron Sapp (1878) born in Angelina County, Texas. Claud Younger Sapp (1881), born in Texas.
3. Allie Tabitha Beard -- married 10 May 1885 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Six children, all born in Angelina County, Texas: Charles C. Sapp (1887), Virginia Nancy J Sapp (1890), Baron DeKalb Sapp (aka James Calvin Sapp) (1891), Benjamin Louis Sapp (1894), Mary Ruby Sapp (1898), and Lucinda C. Sapp (aka Lucian) (1902).

James Monroe Sapp and wife Allie Tabitha are both living at the time of the 1910 census. James died on 29 Jul 1912 in Lufkin, Angelina, Texas. Trees that show that Tabitha died in 1910 is due to shortening "After 1910" to simply "1910". We do not know when she died. However, on Lucian Sapp Bell's death certificate, her mother's name is listed as Tabitha Felger. Perhaps Tabitha remarried after her husband's death. This is currently not known.
