Harold E. Brice, age 86, of 1915 Emmet St., Two Rivers, currently residing at Linden Grove Health Care Facility in Menomonee Falls, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Linden Grove Health Care Facility, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Harold was born on Sept. 21, 1921, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Edward and Mildred (Van Kylen) Brice. He attended St. Mark's Parochial School, and Washington High School, Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1940. Harold entered the U.S. Air Force on May 28, 1942, and served with the 458th Bomber Squad in the 8th Air Force, flying B 24's, and earned the rank of lieutenant. He was honorably discharged from service on Aug. 28, 1945. On May 22, 1943, he married the former Celestine (Sally) Belonger at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Alfred Loehr presided at the ceremony. Sally preceded him in death on April 12, 2000. Harold worked as a master plumber with Braunel Plumbing for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 298; VFW Post 1248; Two Rivers Senior Center; and the Historical Society; and former member of St. Luke's Men's Club. Harold loved to read; enjoyed a round of golf; and above all enjoyed the time spent with his great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Harley (Leonis) Brice; Louis (Ruth) Brice; and Milton Brice; and by an infant sister: Claudine.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Members of the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers will accord military graveside rites immediately following the mass.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008, until the time of mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Peter the Fisherman Parish.

Harold will be forever remembered as a quiet, unassuming man, who loved his God, his family, friends, and his country.
