She was born on March 24, 1918, in Sturgeon Bay to George and Helen (Branning) Sperber.
On October 15, 1936, she married Sylvester Schmiling at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, he preceded her in death on June 1, 1979. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Forestville for many years and she enjoyed making cakes for other people.
Survivors include four children, Gladys Haase, Green Bay; Shirley (Ken) Kostka, Sturgeon Bay; William (Sandra) Schmiling, Algoma; Darlene Michaletz (friend, Leo), Appleton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Lois Jedlowski, and infant daughter, Carolyn; one great-granddaughter, Lydia; two sons-in-law, Bob Haase and Al Jedlowski.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma.
