H. A. "Doc" Harwood, artistic painter, for 30 years a resident of Vicksburg, was found dead in bed at his home, 1636 Monroe street by his wife about 11 o'clock this morning. Mr. Harwood had been dead about three hours when his body was discovered.
Deceased is survived by a wife, three sons and two daughters. The funeral will probably take place tomorrow, arrangements to be announced later. A hard worker, quiet, industrious, well informed, Mr. Harwood had many friends here who will be shocked to learn of his death. He was 64 years of age. The funeral of Harry A. "Doc" Harwood will take place tomorrow, from the family home 1636 Monroe street, Rev. J.C. Greenoe officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pall bearers: Judge C.W. Thigpen, John Christian, Charles W. Katzenmeyer, Harry Hossley, Hardy Jones and Charles Dearing. Mr. Harwood, long a resident of the city, was found dead in his bed at home late yesterday morning.
