Kathryn Ruth, 78, of Cincinnati, passed away on June 11, 2014 in Indianapolis. She was born on November 24, 1935 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Sherman Pearl and Lola Marie Hicks. Kathy worked in the trucking industry for nearly thirty years and was known for her crackerjack efficiency and ebullient personality. Before that, she worked in a record store where she reveled in R&B, country, and gospel music. Prior to her health problems, she was outgoing—and often outlandish—a jovial soul always in search of fun. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Acey, and brothers Neil and Sherman Jr. "Buddy" Hicks. She is survived by son, Mark (Jugnoo), brother John Hicks and sister Leila "Sis" Deaton.
Calling will be Mon. June 16, Noon-2 p.m. at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, 4389 Spring Grove Ave., Cin., OH 45223 with burial immediately following at Spring Grove Cemetery.
