MUNCIE - Abdalla Abdalla, 77, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 peacefully at home.
Abdalla came to Muncie from Cairo, Eygpt in 1979, and worked at Ball State University Library in the Educational Resources area for many years. He was loved by his family, friends and colleagues, and known as a very kind person. Abdalla attended Ain Shamas University in Egypt and earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Business. He worked in public relations for the National Cancer Institute in Cairo before he came to the U.S. He became a citizen in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Marilyn Ryan, retired from the School of Nursing at Ball State. Abdalla and Marilyn were married for thirty-five years. His family is in Egypt, including a brother, Dr. Sayad; a sister, Sofie; and nieces, Dr. Ghada, Rasha, Dalia, and Nevan; and two nephews, Shereen and Halid. He was very close to his Egyptian family and friends. He loved Egypt, his first home, and Muncie, his second home.
Services were held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home, Muncie.
