She married Professoe Dana 4 June 1844.
She helped her husband by editing the American Journal of Science.
Survived by four children, Mrs. George D. Colt of Norwich; Miss Amy Dana of New Haven; Arnold G. Dana of New York, editor of the Financial and Commercial Chronicle; and Edward S. Dana, professor of physics and curator of the mineralogical collection at Yale.
Two children died in childhood.
