The Daily Northwestern (Oshkosh, WI) Monday 28 July 1913, page ten:
Death came suddenly to Arthur Thiex, house painter and decorator of the town of Algoma, Saturday afternoon. Mr. Thiex went into the barn at the rear of the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Thiex, and when he failed to return his mother looked for him and found him there, lifeless. Dr. A. G. Koebler was summoned and found heart failure was the cause of death. Through a misunderstanding of the circumstances, Sheriff Zweifel was summoned from the ball game at Menominee park, but found that the case was not one requiring an inquest.
The deceased was twenty-seven years of age. He is survived by a widow and two children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Thiex, one brother, John P. Thex, and four sisters, Mrs. Fred C. (Ella Helen) Booth of Appleton, Mrs. Albert (Anna Marie) Peterman, Mrs. George (Ida Emma) Kleinschmidt and Mrs. Albert (Lillian Amanda) Last, all of Oshkosh.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, from the residence just west of the city limits in West Algoma. The services will be conducted by Rev. Edward H. Smith of the First Congregational church, and interment will be at Riverside cemetery.
