Stella was born in England and came to the U.S.A. at the age of 14. At 18 she married Fryer Richard Angood and they raised four children, but a census record says she bore 10 children. Fryer worked as a blacksmith and they lived their lives together in Newton, Kansas, dying two years apart. It is believed she is buried with her husband in Greenwood Cemetery.
