Co. E, 6th MVI (9 months), Private; enl. Aug. 25, 1862 (age 18); must. Aug. 31, 1862, must. out June 3, 1863
Co. E., 26th MVI, Private; enl. and must. Feb. 28, 1864, killed Sept. 19, 1864 Winchester, Va.

Killed at the Battle of Winchester, VA, along with Henry Wilder, and John H. Fletcher, all of Acton. A funeral was held at a church in West Acton for all three.
