Elizabeth M. Czechanski, age 94, of 2313-12th St. Two Rivers, died early Monday, August 1, 2011 following a brief stay at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Elizabeth was born July 22, 1917 in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late August and Lena (Bunke) Griep. She attended St. John's Lutheran Grade School, and Washington High School, Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1935. On June 11, 1940, she married Harold Czechanski in Hancock, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1976. Elizabeth was a longtime faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. She was very committed to her church and the bible. She was a family orientated person who enjoyed being with family; she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles; and was an avid Brewer fan.

Survivors include her three children: Barbara and Glodys St-Phard of LaGrange, GA, Kay Czechanski of TWo Rivers, and Michael and Patricia Czechanski of Middleton, Wl; two grandchildren, Michaelpauf Czechanski ana Andrea (James) Frelka; three great grandchildren, Adam, Ella and Evan; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, sne was preceded in death bv two brothers. Walter ana Gerhardt Griep; and three sisters, Margaret Johnson, Frieda Sickinger, and Edna Griep.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 17th & East Park St. Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Lutheran Church on

Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506-18th St. Two Rivers is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The Czechanski family would like to extend a special thank you to the caretakers and staff of Aurora Medical Center, especially Maureen Guillot; and to Dr. Hester Diaz for the compassionate care and kindness extended to our mother.
