Dale P. "Lippy" Durocher, age 73, of 1905 Emmet St., Two Rivers, died on Sunday afternoon, June 15, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Dale was born on Sept. 21, 1934, in Two Rivers, a son of the late William and Emma (Dupras) Durocher. He attended St. Luke's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1953. Dale was stationed in France while serving in the U.S. Army from Sept. 7, 1954, until Aug. 21, 1956. On Feb. 23, 1957, he married Joan Hoffman at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Dale enjoyed celebrating the couple's 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24, 2007, with Joan, his children, family and special friends. He was employed at GTE for 40 years and retired as a switch worker. Lippy enjoyed camping, was an active member of the Horseshoe League, playing softball, singing, bird watching, bowling and card club with his friends. Dale also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sporting events. He was known as Grandpa Camp to many special friends. Dale was also a member of the St. Joe's Club and former member of the St. Luke's Athletic Association and St. Mark's Church Choir.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Donald (Valeria) Durocher; Emmett Durocher; Glen Durocher; Evan Durocher and Pat Markowski; granddaughter: Kelli Anne Keip and mother-in-law and father-in-law: Clara and Thomas Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Members of the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts of Two Rivers will accord military graveside rites. The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, on Thursday evening, June 19, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m. A prayer service led by Fr. Bill will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday morning, June 20, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dale's name will be used for a park bench in the horseshoe pits at Neshotah Park.

Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by members of the VFW and American Legion posts of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday (TONIGHT), June 19, 2008. There will be a parish prayer service held at 7:30 p.m. this evening led by Father Bill. Visitation will continue on Friday morning at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church after 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials given in Dale's name will be used for a park bench at the horseshoe pits in Neshotah Park.
