Walter J. Duvall, 31, 2802 Jackson street, Two Rivers, who starred on amateur baseball and softball teams for a number of years, died at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital at six o’clock last night following a stroke suffered at his work at the F. Eggers Plywood and Veneer company at 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Walter Duvall, better known as Ben, was the son of Herbert Duvall Sr., of 2110 Lincoln street. He had been ailing since early this year but continued at his carpenter work at the Eggers Co.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 8:30 from the Klein and Stangel, Inc. funeral home and at 9 o’clock from St. Luke’s Catholic church. The very Rev. Dean C.V. Hugo will officiate and interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Walter Duvall was born on May 19, 1911 at Niagara, Wisconsin and came to Two Rivers in 1918.
He is survived by his father, step-mother, three sisters and five brothers. The sisters are Mrs. John Kramer of Manitowoc and Arlene and Lucille of this city. The brothers are Clifford, Herbert, Lawrence and Clarence of this city and Pvt. Francis Duvall in the armed forces in Australia.
Walter Duvall was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Luke’s Catholic church and that group will meet at the funeral home at 7:45 Sunday evening to recite the rosary. The body may be viewed from 7 o’clock this evening until the time of the services.
