Clifford J. Duvalle, 56, of 1718-22nd St., Two Rivers, operator of Cliff’s Diamond Bar in downtown Two Rivers the past five years and widely known in sports circles for many years, died early Tuesday morning at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah. He had been failing in health four months.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Klein and Stangel Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. H. J. Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Duvalle was born Aug. 16, 1905, at Daggett, Mich., a son of the late Herbert and Marcella Geno Duvalle. When he was 11 years old the family brought him to Two Rivers where he attended St. Luke Parochial School. He took employment at Plant No. 1 of the Mirro Aluinum Co., Two Rivers, where he worked for a number of years and was a member of the original Mirro Baseball Club, playing in the outfield. He was also active in bowling and basketball circles in his youth. For more than 20 years up to taking over the Diamond Bar operation he was employed at the tavern formerly owned by Oscar Brault. Mr. Duvalle was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Two Rivers Aerie of Eagles.

Besides his wife, the former Theresa Christman, whom he married at Two Rivers, Nov. 11, 1924, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Orvin Bertelson, of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. William Dreher, of South Milwaukee and Mrs. Arlene Nachtwey, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and five brothers, Herbert, of Manitowoc and Alfred, Lawrence, Francis and Clarence, of Two Rivers.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m.
