MARYANN KUMBALEK

Maryann Kumbalek, age 78, of 7230 Rocky K Lane, Two Rivers, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2005 at her residence, with her family at her side.

Private funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapel, Two Rivers, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Maryann was born Dec. 24, 1926 in the town of Gibson, to the late Charles and Emma (Sladky) Spevacek. She attended school in Mishicot, graduating from Mishicot High School with the class of 1946. On April 12, 1947, she was married to George M. Kumbalek at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2002. Together the couple owned and operated Kumbalek Color Center at 1422 Washington St. in Two Rivers for many years. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law: Georgia and Dick Brotski, Two Rivers; Gloria Dietrich of Shoto, and special friend, Ken Solin; GayLynn and Warren Ducat, Two Rivers; one son and daughter-in-law: Robin and Jill Kumbalek, Shoto; seven grandchildren: Kurt (Carrie) Brotski; Kelly (Kevin) Braun; Ashley and Bradley Ducat; Shannon, Emily and Matraca Kumbalek; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob and Talya Brotski; Seth and Sara Jo Braun. She is further survived by a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Ruth Spevacek, Two Rivers; Dick Safranek, Mishicot; and James W. Kumbalek, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Glenn; two sisters: Adeline Flemal and Genevieve Safranek; one brother: Raymond Spevacek; and a sister-in-law: Catherine Kumbalek.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels of Two Rivers assisted the Kumbalek family with funeral arrangements.
