Margaret Chapin Albin, 92, residing at Cypress Court in Peoria, Arizona, died on September 22, 2006. Born on May 10, 1914 in Thurber, Texas, she moved to Illinois at the age of 6 and to Phoenix, Arizona in 1982. Margaret was a retired Federal employee having worked for the Social Security Administration for 35 years before retiring in 1972. She was a former president of the Altrusa Club of Springfield, Illinois and an active member of the Altrusa Club of the Sun City area in Arizona for several years. She also was active for over ten years in many senior citizens' organizations in Springfield, Illinois as well as a member of the League of Women Voters, Common Cause and Environmental Defense. She and her husband, Earl, enjoyed traveling and did so extensively throughout the world. Margaret was preceded in death by her husbands William Chapin, of Springfield, Illinois and Earl Albin, of Phoenix; sister Landa Kopernik and brothers Geno and John Carraro. She is survived by her sister, Ida Davis, of Peoria, Arizona, Nieces Lorette Arganbright, Barbara Petersen, Penny Porter, Cindy Scaife and Nephews Don Carraro and Glenn Davis. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Cypress Court of Peoria and Hospice of the Valley. Interment is in Arrowhead Memorial Gardens in Glendale. No memorial service is planned.
