Tom passed away peacefully at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, surrounded by his loving children.
He was born February 13, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan and was preceeded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Rose [Dorr] Hopson.
Tom moved to Belleville 20 years ago from the Romulus area where he was a Lieutenant with the Romulus Fire Department for many years.
He was also a member of the Romulus Rotary Club.
He coached little league football and baseball for a number of years.
Mr. Hopson was a partner for many years with the Barhops Drive-Inn in Romulus.
He is survived by his 4 children:
Thomas (Tamara) Hopson, Jeffrey (Vicki) Hopson,
Amy (Clyde) Coon and Andrew Hopson.
Loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and
2 great grandchildren.
Step father to John (Stacy) Roberts,
Timothy (Tara) Roberts, and Beth (Tim) Kilgore.
Brother of Ron (Ruth Ann) Hopson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010
from 1 – 6 P.M. at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,
209 Main St., Belleville.
Funeral services will be on Monday, January 18, 2010
at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
