Edward Amos 'Ed' Atkinson, 90, passed away Saturday at his Elk Rapids home following complications from a recent fall. Ed was a retired Oklahoma City police officer (1959-1979,) and was survived by his wife Bobbee, and his niece, Kim Flowers, who was also an officer with Ed's former Okc employer. The Atkinsons lived in Elk Rapids, Michigan and wintered in Kissimmee, Florida.

Edward A. Atkinson ELK RAPIDS, MI Barbara and Edward were married 64 years. Surviving is their daughter, Lisa D. Stevenson. They were preceded in death by their other three children, Rose Marie, Ed A., Jr., and Carroll Lyn. They had four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.Barbara was a business owner and operator of Rock Art Originals and an artist in her own right. She was a member of East Side Girls. Edward was a great jokester, storyteller, a WWII veteran and an Oklahoma City police officer. He was also a member of Traverse City Elks Lodge #323. Barbara and Edward's favorite pastimes were dancing, friends and family. They will be greatly missed by all but never forgotten.
