John Clark Thompson died during the Civil War in 1863 at home, and his wife soon after in 1865. Their daughter Miss Williametta E. Thompson, longtime school teacher and DAR member, stated that they were buried in "the family plot. " At Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL., her infant sister Anne is buried (in section 3 row 1) and also her maternal grandparents, the Easons (Block 2, Row 5).
